The Scottish Football Association will open talks with Gordon Strachan regarding the Scotland national teams managerial vacancy.

The SFA have been on the lookout for a replacement for Craig Levein after they sacked him in early November and it appears as though Strachan could be the man to take the reins at Hampden Park.

MailSport suggests that informal talks have opened between the SFA and Strachan with the former Coventry City, Southampton, Celtic and Middlesbrough boss the firm favourite to take over.
