Scottish Football Association chief George Peat has spoken out of his respect for Celtic manager Neil Lennon. Despite the Hoops boss getting a raw deal from the SFA in recent times with touchline bans, Peat made it clear in yesterday's Scottish Cup semi-final match programme that he does have an awful lot of respect for Lennon, who is forced to deal with plenty away from the pitch.
"Neil has experienced enough highs and lows in his first full season as manager to equip him for a lifetime in coaching," Peat's column read.
"Fluctuations in football fortunes are part of the game - and so, too, the occasional visit to Hampden's sixth floor.
"But death threats, delivery of suspicious mail packages and the need for round-the-clock protection are most certainly not.
"I admire Neil's courage in handling the abhorrent and contemptible behaviour to which he has been subjected to and put on record my condemnation of such cowardly acts."
