The Scottish Football Association will only investigate claims by Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee that he was spat on by fans if the club make an official complaint or the incident is mentioned in the referee's match report. Furious supporters vented their fury at the Dons boss after watching their side crash out of the Active Nation Scottish Cup to Raith Rovers on Tuesday night.
Referee David Somers' report has yet to arrive at the SFA and a complaint from Aberdeen appears unlikely after McGhee claimed he did not want an investigation.
An SFA spokesperson said: "It would depend on the referee's report or whether the club makes a complaint. So far we have not heard anything."
