The Scottish Football Association has postponed their investigation into allegations of racist chanting against Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths.
The SFA charged Griffiths with 'singing in public a song of an offensive, racist and/or discriminatory nature' after he was filmed chanting songs as a Hibernian supporter directed at Edinburgh rivals Heart of Midlothian.
The former Hibs loanee was set to answer his charges on Thursday but the SFA have opted to defer the disciplinary hearing in a bid to allow police to further investigate the incidents which took place in early April.
An SFA statement this morning said: "At the request of his solicitor, the principal hearing date relating to the notice of complaint issued to Leigh Griffiths on Wednesday, 9th April has been adjourned until Thursday, 22nd May to allow for the conclusion of the ongoing criminal investigation by Police Scotland."
