Seydou Doumbia ready to hit Newcastle goals trail

Seydou Doumbia is determined to bang home the goals for Newcastle United.

The 28-year-old Roma striker has revealed that he rejected other offers in order to sign for the Magpies on a loan deal until the end of the campaign.

“I'm really excited and I'm happy to be here (at Newcastle)," Doumbia told BBC Newcastle. “I had a few offers and when I got the offer to come here to Newcastle I signed up straight away.

“It's my childhood dream (to play in the Premier League) and now I'm here I feel fantastic. I feel great. I'm really excited to get out there.

“Of course I'm aware of the situation (Newcastle are in at the moment in the table).

“The team is going through a tough time at the moment. But these things happen in football, all teams go through that.

“I think the most important thing for us is to stay focused on our objective, on our goal, and as I said I'll give 110 per cent to score those goals to help us stay up."
