Sevilla have secured Spain midfielder Vitolo to a new long-term deal.

Vitolo had been expected to join Atletico Madrid this summer, however it was announced on Monday that he'd penned terms to 2022 with Sevilla.

A proud Sevilla president Jose Castro declared: "Today we can say that Vitolo is a Sevilla player for the next five seasons.

"There's been a lot of talk about him and you have to have a respect for Sevilla. He will wear the red and white Sevilla jersey.

"We are very happy about it, we must remember that Vitolo is one of us, he gives everything on the field and while many people spoke, Sevilla did not, we acted!"
