Sevilla striker Fabiano sidelined six weeks with knee injury

Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano faces six weeks out with a knee injury.

The Brazil international was stretchered off in obvious agony during the second half of the match at San Mames after appearing to land awkwardly on his right leg whilst running.

Fears of a long-term injury were assuaged following tests today, with Sevilla saying on their website that the problem was "not as serious as expected", but it was also confirmed that Luis Fabiano still faces a six-week lay-off.

Fabiano has spoken of this being his last season in Europe ahead of returning home to Brazil.
