Sevilla signing Adil Rami says he quit AC Milan with an eye on France's Euro 2016 squad.

Rami left Milan last month.

“Did I speak to [France Coach Didier] Deschamps before joining Sevilla?" Rami told France Football.

“Yes, of course, I asked his advice, but I'll keep the actual conversation to myself. I also told him how I love France.

“By joining Sevilla, I've respected the criteria to be called up to the France squad. I made the choice, to put all the cards in my favour.

“Sevilla have won the last two Europa Leagues, and will play in the Champions League this season.

“As for France, we'll see, I don't want to boast about anything, but I still have a lot to give for Les Bleus."
