Samir Nasri admits he was able to take a step back and learn a lot about football last season.

The French midfielder, who has joined Sevilla from Manchester City on a season-long loan, was restricted to just 13 appearances last term because of a serious thigh injury.

During his time on the sidelines, Nasri said he took the time to reflect and suggests it was a good learning curve for him.

He told Sevilla's official website:"Last year was difficult for me both on and off the field but the time I was injured helped me to step back and reflect.

"I learned a lot in the last year."
