Sevilla saw off competition from Barcelona to sign Racing Santander youngster Jairo Samperio.
Marca says on the day Jairo signed for Sevilla, Barca made a move for the winger. But they couldn't match the first team guarantees of Sevilla and missed out.
Jairo goes to Sevilla for around €3 million.
