Sevilla have sacked coach Antonio Alvarez and immediately replaced him with Gregorio Manzano.

Alvarez was shown the door just hours after Sevilla lost to Hercules.

It was the last straw for president Jose Maria del Nido, who is still furious over Sevilla's Champions League elimination by Braga.

Manzano, who has been in charge of Racing Santander, Valladolid, Rayo Vallecano, Atletico Madrid, Malaga and Mallorca, will take his first training this morning and will lead Sevilla on Thursday for their Europa League encounter with Borussia Dortmund.
