Sevilla have ended their bid to sign Aston Villa fullback Jordan Amavi.

Amavi's move to Sevilla was announced last Friday, however it is now off.

Diario de Sevilla says the Frenchman failed a medical and Sevilla have decided to end negotiations.

Amavi suffered a serious knee injury two years ago, though has fully recovered and managed 36 games last season with Villa in the Championship.

But Sevilla's medical team were unconvinced and recommended the club end their interest.
