Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido says a move for Tottenham winger Giovani dos Santos is a non-starter.

The Mexico international rejected a £13 million move to Udinese in the summer as he wanted to join Sevilla.

But Del Nido confessed last night: "We have no ability, nor will we pay what they ask for him at Tottenham. Giovani is not worth €11m.

"It is impossible to get Giovani. We've offered €4.5m and €500,000 in bonuses; this was higher than he was worth in the market. Now he's worth less."
