Sevilla president Jose Castro says they've made an offer to released Manchester City winger Jesus Navas.

Navas came off contract at City this month and is keen to return to Sevilla for the new season.

"We made a proposal yesterday to Jesus Navas' agent, we expect a response. We are trying to reach an agreement, in the coming days there may be negotiations," said Castro.

"He was a special player for Sevilla and would give great joy to the fans."

Sevilla are in London this weekend for the Emirates Cup at Arsenal.
