Sevilla are confident Arouna Kone will make a full recovery from a worrying episode in the week.

The Ivorian was admitted to hospital in Jerez after a match against UD Rotena, complaining of what a club statement described as "an abrupt bout of spasms with a feeling of intense cold and general sickness".

The update on Kone's condition on Friday morning was more encouraging.

The club statement continued: "Kone has spent the night at hospital and is alert and oriented, and the fever has reduced somewhat.

"Throughout the morning several tests have been conducted to help reach a more accurate diagnosis about what has affected the Ivory Coast player."
