Liverpool must wait to close the signing of Sevilla fullback Alberto Moreno.
Sevilla sports chief Monchi insists Moreno will face Real Madrid in the European Super Cup this weekend.
Liverpool have been in talks with Sevilla this week over a £16 million deal for Moreno.
"Alberto trained very well yesterday and like the rest of his teammates is preparing for the European final, it is true that there is a club that wants him and we have been in contact, but today he is going to play the Super Cup final for Sevilla," declared Monchi.
Sevilla and Liverpool have been negotiating for more than a month over Moreno, with Reds chief Ian Ayre in Spain this week in an attempt to push through a deal.
