Two Spanish teams have signed significant sponsorship agreements weeks into the new La Liga season, reports SportsPro. Sevilla has announced that online betting firm Interwetten will act as its shirt sponsor as the club continues the search for a more permanent primary deal.
The company has existing ties to Sevilla after its Interapuestas brand sponsored the clubs shirts from November last year.
"For Sevilla FC, it is extremely important to rely on sponsors with such influence as Interwetten in a rising industry as sports betting," said Jose Maria Del Nido, the president of Sevilla FC.
"We are also aware of the great efforts made by Interwetten to become one of the authorised brands to be able to operate in our country once the industry has been regulated by the Spanish government.
"Therefore, it is even more valuable, if that's possible, that the trade relations started seasons ago had now consolidated with this sponsorship for the new season."
Meanwhile Valencia CF has renewed its agreement with Sanitas, which will continue as official medical provider of the club and continues a 17-year relationship.
Sanitas is responsible for all medical services for players and staff as well as technological advancements at the club's training ground.
