Setanta Australia deals with Football League

According to Australian media and marketing website mumbrella.com, sports television channel Setanta has acquired the Australian broadcast rights to the Championship after agreeing a new deal with the Football League, reports SportsPro. Under terms of the agreement, financial details of which were not released, Setanta will broadcast three games per round from the Championship, including the end-of-season playoffs in May.

Additionally, Setanta has picked up rights to the League Cup, which involves the 20 Premier League clubs in addition to the 72 teams who participate in the three-tiered Football League.

The aforementioned rights were previously held by rival broadcaster Fox Sports.
