Sergio Gonzalez has been named new coach of Espanyol.
Javier Aguirre left Espanyol at the end of last season after leading the club to a 14th-placed finish.
A statement on rcdespanyol.com announced: "The Espanyol sporting director Oscar Perarnau has announced at a press conference that Sergio Gonzalez Soriano will be the first-team coach of the Blanquiazul.
"Sergio Gonzalez, until now the coach of Espanyol B, has been chosen by the club to lead the sporting project in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons."
