Sergio delighted as Hearts take fiery Edinburgh derby

Heart of Midlothian manager Paulo Sergio was thrilled to see his team come up with a 2-0 win over Hibernian in the Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle yesterday.

Hearts improved out of sight to hold Tottenham to a scoreless draw in the second leg of their ill-fated Europa League play-off on Thursday and took that form into the clash with Hibs with Ryan Stevenson and Andy Webster getting the important goals.

Sergio, whose side went to fourth with the win, said it was good to see his players focus despite some big challenges from the opposition.

"I don't want to criticise referees or anybody," he said.

"But maybe I see some dangerous tackles, maybe it is a surprise to see it finish 11 v 11.

"But it's always like that, the derby is emotional. I told my players not to be emotional and we did a great job. We created a lot of chances and won the three points.

"We controlled the game from beginning to the end and we didn't let them play.

"The team are working together well and improving but I want more."
