Serge Aurier fires Tottenham past determined Brighton

Tottenham Hotspur moved themselves back into the Premier League top-four with a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.

A resolute Brighton defence were cruelly compromised when Serge Aurier's cross looped over Mat Ryan into the back of the net.

Chris Hughton's men remained sound at the back and pushed to get themselves back in the game.

But with three minutes remaining, Son Heung-min sealed all three points for the hosts after heading home Christian Eriksen's free-kick.

Speaking after the game, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said:

"I think it's fantastic for us, three victories in a row - so important for us. I'm happy with the performance."

On Aurier's goal: "I think he tried to put the ball in there and I think it's fantastic, sometimes you need some luck to score.

"The team deserved it, we dominated the game. We deserved to go to half time winning the game, (the win was important to) believe and fight for the Premier League. We created a lot of chances, it's not easy to play when the opponent play in that formation to try only to stop you to play."
