Serbian striker Jelic announced as Perth Glory signing

Former Red Star Belgrade striker Branko Jelic has signed with Perth Glory in the A-League.

The 32-year old Serbian goal scorer has signed a three-year deal with the west Australian club and will be a good replacement for young striker Nikita Rukavytsya who left to try his luck in Europe with Dutch club FC Twente last season.

Jelic most recently played in the German Bundesliga last season with Energie Cottbus and prior to that with Chinese clubs Xiamen Lanshi and Beijing Guoan (where he won the Chinese Super League Golden Boot in 2005).

Prior to joining Beijing, Jelic was with Serbian clubs FK Vojvodina and Red Star Belgrade where he scored over 20 goals in more than 60 appearances.
