Marcos Senna will leave Villarreal for a MLS club this summer according to the Spanish club’s official website.

villarrealcf.es suggests that the 36-year old Brazilian-born former Spain midfielder will leave El Madrigal to play in the USA.

“Marcos Senna, the eternal yellow captain, will leave tomorrow from 11.00 am in front of his door at Estadio El Madrigal (old gate 19) and to the fans who want to attend the club he has played for the last eleven seasons,” read a translated excerpt of the club statement.

“The hispanobrasileño, a true symbol of the Submarine and witness and protagonist of the growth of the company, has accepted a new challenge both sporting and personal and will play next season in the United States. The event will feature the Villarreal president Fernando Roig, who appreciate the footballer delivery and endless dedication for over a decade.”

At this stage it is unclear which MLS side the 28-times capped Spain international will play for following his Villarreal exit.
