Australia coach Pim Verbeek is facing a battle to win back the confidence of several senior players, it has been claimed.

Melbourne Radio 3AW says senior players Marco Bresciano, Harry Kewell and Vince Grella have gone over Verbeek's head to complain to Football Federation Australia chiefs over the selection and tactics for their 4-0 thrashing by Germany.

Bresciano and Kewell were left on the bench for the game, while Grella failed to finish the 90 minutes.
