Idrissa Gana Gueye says he is representing Everton at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Toffees midfielder is a key part of the Senegal squad that is competing for African honours in Gabon, but feels he is also flying the flag for the Toffees as well as his own nation.
"Of course I'm representing Everton," Gana told evertonfc.com via a FaceTime call from the Senegal training base.
"It's a tough group but we have a good team. If we play our football we believe we can make it into the second round and stay in the competition for a long time.
"Our fans are confident, too - they believe in us.
"To win the tournament, it would be good for Senegal. We have never won it before and have just got to one final [losing to Cameroon in 2002].
"The people hope we can win this tournament, it's important for our Senegal fans."
Gana played a full 90 minutes as the Lions of Teranga beat Tunisia 2-0 in their Group B opener on Sunday. Senegal next take on Zimbabwe in Franceville on Thursday.
