Seedorf announces he's taking AC Milan job

Clarence Seedorf has confirmed he's to become the new coach of AC Milan.

Seedorf is leaving Botafogo to take up the position this week.

"The sacking of Allegri was decisive in my decision making," he told reporters. "Galliani called me just yesterday [Monday].

"I could not say no to Milan after spending 10 years with the Rossoneri.

"I want to travel to Milano today. If I don't make it, then I will travel tomorrow.

"I like challenges, and coaching Milan will be another challenge in my career. I made the decision to join Milan today, but last night was a difficult night for me. But I'm sure I made the right choice.

"When I told my kids that I would be returning to Milan, they went all quiet. But they aren't against it.

"I don't know which formation I will use at Milan. I've played with seven of them, and that will help me.

"The contract I signed is for two and a half years. I'm delighted with the opportunity the club have given me and I'm very motivated to do well."
