Clarence Seedorf admits AC Milan's squad lacks quality and the players are confused over their gameplan.

Milan are still to appoint a new coach following the sacking of Leonardo.

Seedorf said: "It's a difficult moment. Until today there was a clear project, linked to an exceptional group considering what we achieved also this season.

"I hope that the new Coach presents a project and carries it through to the end, giving tranquility to the team which above all has need of enthusiasm and a clear idea to be competitive.

"We don't have the best squad in Italy, but you can be competitive and win all the same. The work, the serenity and the clear strategies are the basis for obtaining success.

"If Greece won the European Championship and Porto won the Champions League, even this Milan can do great things."
