Second-half performance gave Southampton deserved win - Liverpool boss Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits Southampton were good value for their 3-2 win on Sunday.

The Reds led 2-0 at the break before Ronald Koeman's Saints fought back with three goals in 20 minutes to come away with a 3-2 win.

Klopp felt his team were the better of the two sides during the initial 45 minutes but conceded that the Saints were by far the more dominant in the second half as the south coast outfit stormed to a vital victory at St Mary's.

"I saw lot of good things from my side," he said.

"It was a perfect first half and we could have scored more. We played really good.

"In the second half, Southampton deserved it. We could have done better but that's how it is in football. You have to take your chances and in the first moment of the second half I saw it was not too good.

"It was clear when they scored their first goal that something big would happen in this game. We could have played better. It is like it is. Second half Southampton deserved the three points."

A stunning strike from Philippe Coutinho and nice finish from Daniel Sturridge had Liverpool in pole position before a double from Sadio Mane and a lovely effort from Graziano Pelle completed a remarkable comeback from Southampton.
