Former Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco is disappointed they chose not to sign permanently former Barcelona defender Martin Caceres.
The Uruguayan spent the 2009-10 season on loan in Turin from Barcelona before being allowed to return to Spain.
"The truth is that I was already talking to Barcelona in April 2010 about him," Secco told TMW in an interview.
"We were discussing the renewal of his loan for another season, but also talking about lowering his buy-out clause to around 6m or 7m.
"But it was decided that Caceres wouldn't be kept. If it was up to me then I would have renewed his loan as we could have evaluated him for another season."
