Mario Martinez's loan spell from Real Espana ends in a week but Seattle Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid is unsure about his return.
The 23-year old Honduran midfielder has been with the Sounders since August last year but Schmid says the Sounders have to be careful about having him back from a financial viewpoint.
"We're clear on what we want to do," Schmid said.
"It's just a matter of whether it's going to work out financially. It's a league that has a salary cap, so that's something we have to consider when we do any of these negotiations."
Since arriving at CenturyLink Field, Martinez has made 17 MLS appearances as well as one in the US Open Cup loss to Tampa Bay Rowdies this year.
