Fredy Montero is hoping he soon gains a call-up to the Colombian national team.
The 25-year old Seattle Sounders attacker has not played for Los Cafeteros since 2009 but is again holding out for another cap after some brilliant form at club level.
Following his hat-trick in the Sounders' 6-2 win at Chivas USA on the weekend, Montero mentioned the national team on Twitter when thanking his fans for their support.
Later, he was asked by the Seattle Times if he was serious about his comments and indeed he is looking to again represent his nation if the opportunity arose.
"I'm ready to go if they call me, but I was just saying someday, hopefully soon, that opportunity comes to me," Montero said.
