Seattle Sounders spoilt Philadelphia Union's MLS debut with a 2-0 win in the rain at Qwest field.

Freddy Montero and Brad Evans scored for the home side while the Union were forced to try and comeback with only 10 men after Toni Stahl was sent off in the 40th minute.

"All goals are to be scored and celebrated, so hopefully this is the beginning of a good season," Montero said. "I will score with my head and left leg, whatever it is."

Danny Califf told philly.com: "Defensively, we were too light and were letting guys run by us."
