Seattle Sounders have announced their opening MLS game against New York Red Bull is a sellout. MLS's newest expansion club made the announcement as Seattle fans gear up in high anticipation of the upcoming season.
The Sounders play 18 contests at home this season, including the much-awaited battle against English Premier League giants Chelsea on July 18.
The club said seats for the Sounders-Bulls inaugural game have been expanded to 32,400. At the same time, more than 20,000 season tickets have been allotted at Seattle alone.
Regular-season maximum seating capacity has also been pegged to 27,700, according to Vulcan Sports and Entertainment CEO Tod Leiweke.
