Seattle Sounders’ Schmid saddened by sudden death of Rhine

Seattle Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid has spoken about the recent death of former FC Dallas player and broadcaster Bobby Rhine.

Rhine died at the age of 35 on Tuesday from a reported heart attack and his loss has been felt by many in the American soccer community, including Schmid.

"It's an extremely sad thing to hear. I remember Bobby when he was playing at the University of Connecticut and obviously in his career in the pros with Dallas and as he went into commentating,” Schmid told SoundersFC.com.

“For anybody to lose their life at such a young age is sad. With an athlete you always think, 'Well an athlete's healthy and fit,' and you don't expect something like that to happen.

“Certainly our prayers and thoughts go out to Bobby's family and the entire Dallas organization because he was always a class act."
