Seattle Sounders' Schmid doesn't want to be Lady Ga Ga on Halloween

Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid admits playing their first play-offs match on Halloween is not ideal and says he will not be getting into the theme of dressing up on the night.

The Sounders have again qualified for MLS finals, for the second time in two years, and will play their home play-off match on Sunday, October 31.

"That's really more a question for the league and for the guys who are higher up than me to really answer that question. I know it's not ideal, playing on Halloween," he said.

"I hope our fans show up. It's OK with me if they show up in costume. I'll be OK with that. If they want me to be in costume on the sideline to make sure they show up, I'll do that. I don't think I want to be a ballerina or I don't think I'll be Lady Gaga.

"But, I mean, whatever it takes. I think we have worked too hard this season. We have got a home playoff game, which is something that is very important to our team but it's also very important to our fan base. Maybe we can just put a notice out that trick or treating is going to be delayed a little bit in the Seattle area on Sunday night."
