Seattle Sounders role for ex-Fulham, Tottenham keeper Keller

Recently-retired Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Kasey Keller is close to entering an off-field role with the club.

Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer has revealed that the former USA international could soon be involved with the Sounders backroom following a brilliant playing career with the likes of Millwall, Leicester City, Rayo Vallecano, Tottenham, Southampton, Borussia Monchengladbach and Fulham.

"Yes, we are making progress and having very good conversations. There's no deadline," he said.

"Kasey has got a lot of things going on and enjoying his first freedom in 20-some-odd years, so I don't think either of us are urgently trying to get it locked it. But we are having great conversations and optimistic that we'll come together with a role that we can announce in the not-too-distant future."
