MLS club Seattle Sounders are believed to be in pursuit of Levante striker Obafemi Martins.
The Sounders have already been linked with the 28-year old Nigerian but it has now been confirmed by MLSsoccer.com and Sports Illustrated that the club are seeking the services of the former Newcastle United and Inter Milan man.
Martins has been in fine form with Levante this season, scoring nine goals in 20 appearances, including a goal in each of the Europa League Round of 32 legs against Olympiakos in which the Spaniards won 4-0 on aggregate.
Seattle are keen to partner a Designated Player alongside former Fulham striker Eddie Johnson and it is widely believed that Martins is the man they want.
