Seattle Sounders midfielder Alonso: We have to look forward

Osvaldo Alonso has urged his Seattle Sounders teammates to look ahead after their poor beginning to the MLS season.

The Sounders were beaten 1-0 by San Jose Earthquakes on the weekend to make it a three-match winless beginning to the 2013 campaign and Cuban midfielder Alonso is well aware that is simply not good enough for a team of this quality.

"We feel disappointed. One point in three games is always bad. But we have to look forward," he said.

"We have more games coming up. We have to prepare more - physically, mentally - to play again at Salt Lake (next weekend)."

He added of the loss which came after a first-half Chris Wondolowski goal: "It was a good challenge. They are one of the best teams in Major League Soccer.

"They showed last year winning the Supporters' Shield. They scored a goal in the last minute of the half. We tried to come back, but we didn't. We have to score goals to win games."
