Seattle Sounders look set to attract another massive MLS crowd to their opening play-off match against Real Salt Lake on November 2.
The best-supported soccer club in North America have sold 33,000 tickets for the CenturyLink Field fixture and sales are going so well that general manager Adrian Hanauer feels there may be more interest in the game than their planned capacity of 36,000.
"We've had really cursory discussions," Hanauer said. "We'll see how the public on-sale goes today, but I think we lean toward wherever possible giving our season-ticket holders a reason to be season-ticket holders.
"I have very few doubts that demand will be greater than the current, planned capacity, and maybe that's an OK thing.
"Anything beyond that will be more of a philosophical discussion about what our strategy is as far as that capacity. But again, I'm very comfortable with the idea that there's a big benefit to being a season-ticket holder, and that is that you get into the big important games."
