Seattle Sounders hoping for Chivas Guadalajara friendly

Seattle Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer hopes his club can attract Mexican powerhouse Chivas Guadalajara for a friendly next month.

The Goats have already confirmed friendly matches with hermanosChivas USA and MLS' newest franchise Philadelphia Union in September with a third match against the Sounders touted.

Hanauer did not reveal whether or not the match had been organised but admitted it would be great for his club.

"If Chivas were coming to Seattle, we'd be very excited about that," he told the Seattle Times. "Huge soccer brand. Finalist in the Copa Libertadores. It's a team we've been trying to bring to Seattle for probably five years, back to the USL days. Just had not been able to for whatever reason. If in fact it does get announced, that we're bringing Chivas to Seattle, I'll be very excited about that."
