Seattle Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid has his fingers crossed that Osvaldo Alonso will be back in action next weekend.
The Cuban-born midfielder sustained a hamstring problem in the weekend's Western Conference semi-final second leg against FC Dallas and is in some doubt for the November 23 meeting with LA Galaxy.
The Sounders take on the Galaxy in the Western Conference Championship play-off first leg at the StubHub Center and Schmid feels that could quite possible be enough time for four-time team MVP Alonso to prove his fitness.
"We'll know more as we go forward each day," Schmid told reporters following Sounders training on Tuesday.
"Our expectation is that he'll be able to make it back for the game in LA.
"We'll go through the protocol, and obviously for the rest for this week we're going to keep him off the field and try to get the treatment in and get him on the field next week."
Seattle progressed to the Conference decider against LA courtesy of an away-goal triumph over FC Dallas following a 1-1 aggregate.
