Eddie Johnson's chances of staying with Seattle Sounders next season have been boosted after news was revealed that the club has the option to extend his contract.
The former Fulham striker joined the Sounders in February and after scoring 17 goals in all competitions in 2012, it is likely that Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer will want to re-sign him for the 2013 campaign.
The Seattle Times suggests that Johnson's option would cost the Sounders $150,000 and for a MLS All-Star and MLS Comeback Player of the Year, that is a very wise investment, especially after a franchise record 14 regular season goals.
