Seattle Sounders GM Adrian Hanauer says there was little delay in closing a deal for Kaiserslautern midfielder Christian Tiffert.

The German has signed for Sounders as their latest DP.

Hanauer told the Seattle Post: "It wasn't really a long negotiation with Christian. What we weren't sure though is what was going to happen with the rest of the roster. If a different player or a different position had gone for some reason, then we needed to be careful that we prepared to solve a different problem or go out and fill a void."
