Seattle Sounders get extra draft pick following Ljungberg's MLS departure

Seattle Sounders will receive a second-round draft pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft to be held on January 13.

The Sounders have acquired the Chicago Fire's number 27 overall pick after the Swede did not re-sign with the club.

The draft pick Seattle received in the Ljungberg trade in July last year was conditional on whether he re-signed with Chicago but after he joined Scottish giants Celtic FC, the pick goes back to the Sounders.

Seattle now have six picks in the draft which takes place in Baltimore on Thursday week.
