Mario Martinez's loan spell with Seattle Sounders is likely to extend past the end of the month.
The 23-year old Honduran midfielder is contracted with the Sounders from Real Espana until June 30 but his spell at CenturyLink Field could be lengthened according to general manager Adrian Hanauer.
"We're not going to give a lot, or any, specifics, but we've started that dialogue," Hanauer said.
"We would like to keep Mario. We're currently in conversation with his representation and the club to try and keep him."
Martinez, who has made nine MLS appearances this season, said he was feeling very comfortable at Seattle and could stay put if an agreement can be worked out.
"I feel really good on my team," Martinez told Diez.hn. "My contract is almost over but my intention is to continue with my club. I feel very comfortable. Seattle is a great city."
