Seattle Sounders earn respect from NFL's Seahawks

MLS club Seattle Sounders have received a boost from NFL counterparts the Seahawks.

Following a midweek training session, coach Sigi Schmid was asked about the positive actions taken by the Seahawks organization to have Qwest Field ready for soccer use after a pre-season football match on the weekend.

The field was ready and chalked up for soccer yesterday, less than three days after the Hawks' pre-season game Saturday night, delighting Schmid.

"It's funny...until you mentioned it now, I didn't even realize, and I think that's a tribute to the Seahawks and Sounders organization," Schmid said.

"Stepping out there wasn't even an afterthought...It shows the level of respect that the Seahawks show the Sounders and the Sounders are obviously as respectful to the Seahawks. That doesn't exist in some of the other organizations."
