Seattle Sounders defender Tyrone Marshall has scoffed at claims he was 'digging' up the penalty spot before Guillermo Schelotto missed his spotkick for Columbus Crew on the weekend. Sounders FC ran out 1-0 winners and Marshall told the Seattle Times: "Aw c'mon. I mean, the guy put the ball behind the penalty spot. I can't go and kick it for him. It's just one of those things that I think luck was on our side that night...It had nothing to do with me. Any other day he'd probably put that in the top of the net.
"They can use all the excuses they want to say that was me. If that's the case then fine. Every time he takes a penalty kick I'll make sure I'll walk in front of him."
