MLS club Seattle Sounders have confirmed the arrival date of star recruit Blaise Nkufo. The Swiss international will link up with his new club on July 13 and then be added to the playing roster on July 15 when the transfer window opens.

Nkufo signed with the Sounders from Dutch champions FC Twente back in March but then went on to represent Switzerland at the World Cup so has been unable to join his new club until now.

"In our discussions with Blaise we encouraged him to take a full two weeks off once he returned from the World Cup," Sounders general manager Adrian Hanauer said in a statement.

Nkufo may be right to make his Sounders debut when they take on Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic on July 18.
