Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid was delighted for Real Salt Lake over their Champions League final result in Mexico this week.

RSL drew 2-2 at Monterrey in the first-leg of the final and host the Mexicans on Wednesday.

Schmid told the Seattle Times: "Great night. When you go down to Monterrey and get a tie out of it, it's very good. It was a little bit maybe against the run of play in the second half with Morales' goal, but it was a great goal, great individual effort.

"That's what you need to have happen in a series like that: an individual stands up, makes a great effort, you come with a good result on the road, so now it's to your advantage a little bit being at home. Now it's a matter of preparing yourself and doing the right thing."
