Seattle Sounders have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Troy Perkins.
The 33-year old veteran has been snapped up by the Sounders after passing the MLS Re-Entry Draft and will be a welcome addition to the roster according to head coach Sigi Schmid.
"Troy is an accomplished player that is well-known throughout our league," said Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid in a statement.
"He has been one of the most consistent performers at the goalkeeper position during his MLS career, and he brings experience to our roster. We look forward to welcoming him in Seattle shortly."
The seven-time USA international kicked off his MLSD career in 2004 with DC United and has since tallied 213 league appearances the Washington outfit as well as with Portland Timbers and Montreal Impact.
Perkins, who has also spent time in Norway with Valerenga, was the 2006 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and named to the MLS Best XI in the same season while with DC.
